Beaches

Presque Isle is Pennsylvania’s only “sea shore.” Its long stretch of beaches make it a popular hotspot to both locals and visitors each summer. Beaches are open daily throughout the year for walking, sunbathing, picnicking and more. Swimming is permitted only at guarded beaches while guards are on duty. Guarded beach hours are noon to 7:30 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day unless otherwise posted.

The regular hours are 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Smoking is prohibited at Barracks and Mill Road beaches and Beach 11, including the swimming areas. For visitors who smoke and still want to use the beach, designated areas adjacent to the beach are provided. The restriction includes cigarettes, pipes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and other handheld, lighted smoking devices.

FYI: Beach wheelchairs are available free of charge (with proof of ID) Memorial Day through Labor Day on a first come, first-served basis at the public safety building beginning at 10 a.m. Wheelchairs must be returned by 7 p.m.
