Presque Isle Partnership’s Discover Presque Isle is here.   Come on out to the park and enjoy three days of great fun, learning, food and also know you are supporting the Partnership by donating $ 3.00 for the 2013 DPI FROG BUTTON.   All profits from this event go right back into the park in hundreds of ways such as the children’s playground, the frog viewing platform, purchase of new weatherproof picnic tables and many other projects of the Presque Isle Partnership.

This year there are many new events, vendors, artists and crafters to see.  As usual, many bands will entertain us at Saturday on the beach bonfire.  On Friday it’s Nature Awareness day at Waterworks.  This is where children and adults of all ages get to learn, question and enjoy learning from various nature friendly organizations and interact with members of Presque Isle’s Environmental Staff.   You can even ask them that one thing you always wanted to know about Presque Isle.

Have you ever taken a ride on a Segway?  Well, on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., you can learn how to ride one of them and then practice what you learned on a fun- filled obstacle course.   A small fee does apply.

Sunset Point always attracts many visitors during DPI because a few devoted professionals fly their windborne kites, windsocks as the wind surfers perform just offshore.   Colors will fill the sky from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.   This is always a fun time, so bring your camera and stay a while.

The huge Waterworks Arts and Craft Festival is open all three days with more than 100 vendors.  Of course, who wants to miss the Presque Isle Rotary Club’s “Pancake Breakfast” which kicks off at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.  Start your day on Presque Isle with a fun time, while supporting a great organization, at the Rotary Pavilion at Waterworks.
